The article outlines the perspectives of the phonosemantics’ potential for the analysis of creative prose, of Chekhov’s short stories, in particular. It is shown that the realization of the phonosemantics’ mechanisms in creative prose influences the lexical semantics forming the basis of the prose’s content.
