Formalization of communication processes in digital culture

The article discusses the current aspects of the formalization of communication practices in modern digital culture. The relevance of addressing this issue is due to an unprecedented change in the appearance of social interaction in the virtual space, which directly affects the behavioral models of participants in digital communication. The article examines a wide range of problems caused by the digital transformation of modern social connections. It highlights the risks of societal isolation, a decline in social responsibility, and the simplification of communication practices overall as consequences stemming from the advancement and proliferation of digital technologies. The author poses the problem of educating the digital culture of the individual as the main way to counteract the risks generated by the formalization of communicative processes in digital culture. The discourse examines the role of philosophy as a provider of unique insights into the value-laden nature of communication, applicable also within the context of virtual interactions. Moreover, the analysis proposes that individual responsibility is central to the construction of one’s digital culture, thereby advocating for a more nuanced understanding of the implications that digital communication holds for personal and collective identities in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
