Formal and substantive nature of continuity in vocational education

The article reveals different approaches to the principle of continuity in modern pedagogy. In the existing education system normatives determine not only its content and implementation forms, but also prospects for development. We have found an association between the essential components of educational process, which determine the place of continuity in vocational education. The specificity of continuity understanding at different levels of education is compared. Comparison helps us to give a complete picture of continuity understanding in pedagogy and to draw an analogy with modern educational reforms. In our opinion continuity of secondary and higher vocational education is the basis for formation of multi-level educational complexes and promising trajectories for educational institutions development.
