Formation of alcohol dependence among women of Tuvan and Russian ethnicity

Background. The prevalence and structure of alcohol consumption, alcoholization patterns and their negativemedical, social and psychological consequences in different ethnocultural groups differ depending on the ethnic composition of the population, socio-psychological factors, cultural characteristics that characterize the attitude of thepopulation to alcohol consumption from the standpoint of ethnic self-awareness. Objective: to determine the prevalence, clinical features of the formation of the course of alcohol dependence in women of Tuvan and Russian ethnicity. Material and Methods. Clinical-psychopathological, clinical-follow-up, mathematical and statistical methodswere used in the work. Alcohol dependence was diagnosed according to ICD-10 under the headings F10.2 (dependence syndrome), F10.3 (withdrawal state). The study sample included two groups of women with alcoholism. Group1 - 78 women of Tuvan ethnicity undergoing treatment at the Republican Narcological Dispensary of the Republic ofTyva. Group 2 - 66 women of Russian ethnicity who underwent treatment in the Addictive States department of theMental Health Research Institute TNRMC. Results. According to the official statistics of the narcological service ofthe Republic of Tyva, there is an annual increase in the number of women registered by dispensaries. The formationof the main symptoms of alcohol dependence in women of Tuvan nationality (group 1) is characterized by an accelerated rate of formation.
