The concept of manipulation, its goals, consequences, as well as the idea of further developing antimanipulative behavior among employees of the penitentiary system are considered. The authors draw attention to the problems that employees of the penal system may encounter when working with suspects, accused and convicted persons, especially in the context of possible manipulations. The article presents ten rules of assertive behavior that can serve as the basis for the formation of an anti-manipulative approach and include confidence, setting boundaries and expressing one’s needs. The development of anti-manipulative behavior not only helps employees of the penal system in countering manipulation, but also contributes to a more objective perception of reality, effective work in difficult situations and the protection of employees from the negative influence of special forces.
