Active implementation of information technology in the research procedures of ethnography, museum studies and museology connects with the necessity of adequate fixation of objects of material culture, further generalization and comparison of large data sets. Big challenge is to maintain registration and archival museum activities, regulated at the legislative level. The article is devoted to the results of actions of building a database of woodworking and construction business of the Russian Siberians by informational system KAMIS in the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of SB RAS. The analysis revealed that traditional woodworking existed as a form of domestic Russian Siberian peasant production and was widespread in Siberia. Traditions of design elements and construction techniques in the construction business were preserved for significant periods. The flexibility of creating databases using KAMIS allows along with descriptions of museum objects to store a variety of information about individuals, organizations, historical events, architectural objects related to the museum collection. The system allowed to make the required number of rubrics for collection with hierarchical structure, which provides a search for any combination of parameters, both common and private.
