Formation of a uniform system of higher education: problems and prospects

In the article an analysis is given of the problem of formation of a uniform system of higher education in the conditions of globalization and the development of information society. It is noted that globalization is formed and conditioned through information processes. Formation of information society cannot be carried out by the efforts of one, even the most economically developed country. Such society can be represented by an association of countries possessing a significant degree of integration into the world economics and the world educational space. Knowledge and information have not only become an organizing factor of the postindustrial society, but also the character of knowledge has modified: a key position has begun to be occupied by the theoretical knowledge which, in the form of invention or organizational improvement, is involved into the practical processing of resources.
