Formation of state policy in the sphere of environmental safety as a condition for sustainable development of the Russian Federation

The article analyzes the problem of negative changes in the environment and the need to develop a state policy in the field of environmental safety. According to the authors, as negative environmental changes increase, their negative social consequences will also increase, which in themselves are capable of putting civilization on the brink of disaster. In this regard, in the context of the development of human society, the environmental factor comes to the fore. The analysis of the legal framework allowed the authors to conclude that a long-term state policy in our country is being developed in the field of environmental safety, which, in turn, is the basis for the sustainable development of the Russian economy and improving the standard of living of the population in the context of an environmental crisis. In the organizational and legal aspect, this policy should be aimed at creating conditions that allow overcoming the fundamental contradiction of modern economic activity, which consists in the need to maintain high rates of economic growth, on the one hand, and the need to ensure environmental safety, on the other.
