The motivational aspect of learning has great importance in the structure of educational activity. However, today the teachers note that the motivation of students remains a key problem of teaching mathematics and one of the most difficult stages of the lesson. This problem is particularly acute during work with students in the humanitarian field, and this implies rethinking the known methodological decisions on updating the motivational mechanisms. The issue of formation of educational motivation in the article is considered in close connection with the content features of the subject of mathematics, the formation possibility of motivation based on the interests of students. The article highlights the factors have a significant impact on the development of motivation of students, the possibility of taking them into account in the formation of competence in the field of mathematics teachers through the organization of targeted work in the framework of training courses.
