Formation of artistic and aesthetic sensibilities of students through reading the epic of Manas

An attempt was made to show the role of expressive reading in teaching the works of folklore, in particular, using the example of the Epic of Manas. First, the history of the study of expressive reading by various scholars at different times is briefly described, quotations from both Soviet (Russian) research scientists and well-known Kyrgyz scientists are given simultaneously. Attention is focused on the teacher’s ability to present the epos text material to students at an appropriate level, i. e. before demanding from students expressiveness in reading, narrating episodes from an epic, the level of mastery of the teacher himself must comply with the norms of expressive reading. This is what will help the formation of the artistic and aesthetic sense of the student or the student.
