Formation and development of environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda: “green” mission of universities

The article is devoted to the consideration of the role of universities in the implementation of the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda and principles of sustainable development. The relevance of the study is determined by the increasing risks associated with climate, social and geopolitical changes, as well as the need to minimize them in the implementation of sustainable development principles. The article shows that universities are both participants in the ESG ecosystem and ESG infrastructure. They not only create and disseminate knowledge, but also form a culture of sustainable behavior, influence the transformation of behavior models of business entities. The practical result of the study is methodological developments on the implementation of economic disciplines at the university, combining the principles of sustainable development and a risk-based approach. It is this combination that allows you to develop a culture of sustainable behavior of students who are subjects of sustainable development and subsequently become decision-makers.
