The article deals with the issue of the development of information competence of teachers of history and social studies. There are revealed the problems that the teachers can face in the process of the use of the digital technologies. The authors conclude that the use of the digital resources and methods of the traditional pedagogical study is a necessary condition of the rise of the efficiency of the education in the context of its digitalization
