The development of students’ innovation potential in the context of the quality of life

The study investigates the category of the quality of life and substantiates the idea about its comprehensive attributes, a combination of its objective and subjective factors. The research determines the relevant development of students’ innovation potential when improving the quality of life. A sociological survey of innovation potential of young people studying at the Public Sector Department of the Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management reveals that most students realize the need to enhance their personal innovation potential in the university academic environment, and most respondents are satisfied with their professional choice and university conditions for developing their personal innovation potential. At the same time, there are several challenges impeding this process and areas for improvement in innovation activity and motivational mechanisms of students’ intellectual, creative, and entrepreneurial activity. The authors conclude that students’ innovation activity should be intensified to achieve a high quality of life of the whole Russian society in the future.
