The creation of economic conditions to overcome contraband in the USSR Far East region (the second half of the 1920s)

Based on archival sources, the article deals with the actions initiated by the Soviet government and regional authorities to create economic conditions, under which contraband could be overcome in the Soviet Far East. As a result of the study, a conclusion has been drawn that doing away with contraband became possible only after joint economic, legal and administrative actions had been taken.
