Formation of the Committee of Sea Excursions in the structure of the Fleet Renewal League

The article examines the history of the creation of the Committee of Sea Excursions within the League of Renewal of Public Organizations. The role of the Committee of Sea Excursions among other Russian public military-patriotic associations formed after the defeat of the Russian Navy in the Russian-Japanese war of 1904- 1905 is analyzed. It is noted that the promotion of naval knowledge among Russian students at the beginning of the twentieth century was one of the main tasks of the Committee of Sea Excursions. As a result of the active life position of representatives of the military and political elite after the Russian-Japanese war of 1904-1905 a domestic public organization appeared that helped to familiarize the population of the Russian Empire with the basics of domestic and foreign naval affairs.
