Developing an employee's economic security management competence

Introduction. In the developing knowledge economy, under the new conditions a modern employee needs a competence ensuring their economic security as a labor activity knowledge consumer who is able to optimize the utility of the knowledge consumed. Aims. To work out and present a specialized educational program for developing the economic security management competence of an employee as a labor activity knowledge consumer. Methods. Logical methods (analysis, synthesis, etc.) were used in identifying general research logics, the research problem, the goal and the program content; in addition, theoretical methods (dialectic, systemic, thought experiment) were used in determining and implementing the general methodological basis of the study. Results. A specialized educational program for developing economic security management competence of an employee as a labor activity knowledge consumer was worked out and presented. The proposed program structure consists of three sections: management activities in ensuring the economic security of an employee as a labor activity knowledge consumer; managing an employee’s economic security as an optimization of the usefulness of the consumed labor activity knowledge; optimization of the usefulness of the consumed labor activity knowledge in the process of managing employees’ labor interaction. Each section is presented under five problems (topics) recommended for further study and discussion, based on the possible forms of academic work, both within the university and in corporate training. Conclusions. The concept of “economic security management competence of an employee as a labor activity knowledge consumer” developed and discussed in the article as well as in the content of the educational program, will enrich the theoretical and methodological basis for “Economics and national economy management” study programme and contribute to solving the issue of managing an employee’s economic security in the developing knowledge economy.
