The article deals with the technologies of development of self-education competences in the course of foreign language teaching of students majoring in biology, including application of Bloom's Taxonomy of learning goal-setting, information technologies and multimedia resources. The author describes the original methodology, the benefits and the results of application of language portfolio technology for storing professionally meaningful information, evaluation and self-evaluation of educational achievements by students majoring in natural sciences in a federal university.
