Formation of competences in the process of studying the course “History and methodology of biology”

The discipline “History and Methodology of Biology” is one of the leading disciplines in Master’s Program 06.04.01 - “Biology”. The aim of the course is the profound study of the history of the subject as an academic model of the corresponding science; methodological bases and principles. In the process of acquisition the course some important competences should be formed. The methodology of competence development has its specificity conditioned by the level of its formation. The threshold level consists in knowledge of factual material. The basic one - in knowledge of methodology of biological research, skill of choosing and analyzing material. High level means the ability to apply in practice the knowledge acquired while studying the course. Development of competence in the process of acquisition the course of Master’s Program allows graduate students use knowledge of methodology of biological researches for writing Master’s works in the chosen field of biology.
