The need for security is a basic vital element in the life of every person, which is why the formation of a culture of personal security is an object of national security of the state and society. The article defines "Personal security" in the context of the relationship with the definition of "Personal security culture". The process of forming a culture of personal security is analyzed in detail, the characteristic features of this process in the modern information society are determined, in addition, the most effective channels for distributing information about the methods and procedures for ensuring security in a given life situation are highlighted. The most common methods of forming a culture of personal safety are identified and their content is revealed, thereby highlighting the main areas that contribute to the development of a safe type of personality, including such innovative areas as information, advisory and insurance security.
