Motivating children to engage in physical culture and sports

The article deals with the topic of psychological and pedagogical support in children's sport and points out its extensive educational value. The main tasks are highlighted and the ways of their solution are outlined. Some methods of psychological and pedagogical work on the example of table tennis are shown. The author gives special attention to the sports motivation. The difference between the training and competitive motivation and the balance between them are considered. The priority of success motivation, methods of its formation and the role played by the young sportsmen relations with their parents and coaches are emphasized. The importance of the individual approach in the formation and consolidation of motivation is highlighted.
