Forming learner's motivation in the course of cultivating and control of physical qualities: organizational and methodical approaches

Introduction. The research aims at the search and devising of new organizational and methodical approaches to form the learner’s motivation in the course of cultivating and controlling the level of development of physical qualities. Materials and Methods. The methods applied were analysis of scientific and methodical literature, the system approach, pedagogical observations, testing and methods of mathematical statistics. The research was conducted on the basis of Omsk State Transport University and covered 48 second-year students divided into control and experimental groups. Results and Discussion. The paper focuses on the issues related to the learner’s motivation in the course of controlling their physical qualities. To form motivation in the course of cultivating and controlling the level of development of the learners’ physical qualities the authors specify approaches, means and methods. It is proved reasonable to employ the devised percentile scales of assessment to control the level and proportionality of development of the students’ physical qualities as well as the computer application programme for devices with Android operating system capable of constructing individual profile of the level of development of the students’ physical qualities and enabling a person to assess the level and proportionality of the developed qualities without assistance. Conclusions. To form motivation in the course of cultivating and controlling the level of development of physical qualities it is necessary to apply a differentiated approach, contest and game methods, motivational and pedagogical means of cultivating and controlling physical qualities. Mobile application “Testing Physical Proficiency” facilitates self-control.
