Formation of public consciousness through the return to the history of the region

This article studies the current problem both for Russia and the world - methods of fulfilling the hierarchy of values and desires of modern society. It deals with important historical precedents which help to understand the subject of the paper. This issue is one of the most essential for the society. This is a manifestation of the substantial difference between the climate of the society of the early nineties and the modern one. The decision about the new direction should be a key in the development of a destination "Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk", which will include the project of the Museum of the USSR, the historic route "Volga way", etc. Ulyanovsk and the Ulyanovsk region have a unique potential for the development of routes "red tourism" as it has been the birthplace of Vladimir Lenin and Alexander Kerensky. It is a place of the unique memorial and has a "State historical and memorial Museum-reserve "Homeland of V. I. Lenin". Therefore, the main task is to create a major tourist destination (the area with all sorts of amenities, facilities and services for tourists needs). Ulyanovsk has been this destination since the Soviet times.
