The article is devoted to approbation of a model of formation of teaching competence of parents applied by them in development of independence of preschool age children. This model allows to settle a conflict between the urgency of parents’ competence formation and poor development of practical aspect of this problem. The author builds up a generalized image of a modern parent, who has insufficient teaching skills. The paper describes tasks, forms, methods and conditions of effective formation of parents’ teaching competence in development of independence of preschool age children in the conditions of cooperation between a kindergarten and a family.
