The forming of regular army troops in Siberia by the middle of 1760s: plans and achieved results

The article deals with the process of forming new military units in Siberia throughout the first years of Empress Catherine II’s rule. The authors come to a conclusion that the crown’s activity in the military sphere has been determinated by not only a foreign-policy situation, but also some interior factors. Limitedness of material and man-power resources made it impossible for achieving planned results.
