Formation of political worldview of cadets of military universities

Military personnel are one of the key groups of the population influencing political processes in society; issues of not only domestic and foreign policy of the state, but also national security of the country largely depend on their position and activity. That is why the formation of a correct, politically balanced worldview of military personnel should be given primary attention. The article reveals the features of the political worldview of military personnel, in particular, cadets of military educational institutions, notes the factors contributing to the formation of a political worldview at the everyday level even before joining the ranks of the Armed Forces or entering military universities. The author considers the structural elements of the political worldview of cadets, their main characteristics that differ from those of the civilian population. The work highlights the most important aspects that determine the direction of formation and specificity of the political worldview of future officers, formulates the means and methods of educating politically literate military specialists. Proposals are made to establish the necessary links between the theory and practice of teaching cadets political literacy, as well as activities to prepare military personnel to perform immediate tasks of armed defense of the state, the formation of a sense of patriotism, citizenship, responsibility for decisions made and the necessary qualities of future leaders, leaders of military teams. In conclusion, the work reveals the directions of future professional activity of cadets, in which a competently formed political worldview as part of the general culture of an officer will allow them to successfully achieve the set tasks. As an example of a worthy use of abilities, including political ones, of military personnel - graduates of military universities, the program for the formation of the administrative and managerial reserve “Time of Heroes”, created on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, is given.
