Formation of positive parental identity in families with children who have special needs

The article analyzes the problems of help given to a family with a child who has special needs. It is shown that the parents of these children have difficulties relating to the development of both the child and the parents' own self-realization. The conclusion is that the main focus of this help is to create and organize the work of special support services for the formation of positive parental identity. The psychological means of such work are described: modelling of the subjective world of a child for parents, inclusion of parents in the work of professionals with children, strengthening parental feedback, the use of metaphors and positive reinforcement.
