Formation of the Legal Basis for the Development of the Renewable Energy Sector in Germany

The article delineates the historical evolution of the regulatory framework governing renewable energy in Germany, encompassing both federal and regional levels. It elucidates the primary tenets of legislative regulation concerning alternative energy, presenting data on the progressive modification of target indicators for the proportion of renewable energy sources in the aggregate electricity consumption and the attainment of installed capacity. Statistical data, disaggregated by federal state, are provided to offer granular insights into the sector’s distribution. The study scrutinizes incentive mechanisms supporting the generation, distribution, storage, and utilization of clean energy. It is concluded that there is a formed system of legislative acts on renewable energy at the level of Germany and its federal states, as well as on the effective state policy of the country and public support for the energy transition.
