Formation of views on government in political doctrine of the old believers

In the minds of the majority of citizens, Old Believers are associated primarily with the religious schism that arose in Russia in the middle of the 17th century. Meanwhile, the ideology of the Old Believers is not limited only to matters of faith. A significant place in it is given to the theme of power, which at that time, according to the decisions of the Fifth Ecumenical Council (mid-6th century), was formulated as a “symphony of two authorities”. The "priesthood" represented spiritual authority, and the "kingdom" the secular.
