The formation of the productivity of experimental erectoid leaf hybrids of sunflower bred at VNIIMK under different areas of plant nutrition

New experimental sunflower hybrids with altered habitus are developed in VNIIMK. They have less projective area of leaf surface comparing to the existent varieties and hybrids. So, there are appeared conditions for development of cultivation technologies for sunflower sowing with smaller inter-row spacing (30, 35, 45 cm, etc.) than at traditional planting (70 cm) and increased seed sowing rate (100-120 thousand seeds per ha). In 2018-2019 we studied possibility to cultivate sunflower with normal and erectoid leaf type at the various plant populations (80, 100 and 120 thousand seeds per ha) and row spacing 35 cm on leached black soils on fields of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops (VNIIMK), Krasnodar. As an object of the research we used sunflower hybrids of VNIIMK breeding with erectoid leaves under codenames Triumph er-2, Triumph Er-3, Berkut er-2 and Berkut Er-3.
