Formation of professional competencies among students of mining specialties by means of stepwise immersion in industrial environment

Statement of the problem. The relevance of the study is due to the need to find effective methods for implementing a practice-oriented approach in the training of engineering personnel in higher educational institutions, in connection with the growing requirements of the real sector of the economy and technological progress. The purpose of the article is to describe the method developed by the authors of stepwise immersion in the industrial environment for students specializing in Mining (Technological Safety and Mine Rescue) for the formation of professionally important competencies in the process of job placement. The research methodology is based on normative legal acts in the field of higher education, research works of Russian and foreign scientists, a competence-based approach, analysis of scientific publications and educational experience in the field of the formulated problem. The stepwise immersion method is based on a practice-oriented approach that provides students with the position of an active subject of the educational process, where a teacher is required to have managerial competence rather than didactic one. Research results. The developed method has been introduced into the educational process of the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for students from the first to the sixth year in the field of Mining (Technological Safety and Mine Rescue), during the implementation of which organizational and pedagogical conditions for stepwise immersion of students in the industrial environment have been created and tested.
