Formation of professional skills and abilities of an investigative entity during practical classes on criminalistics

The article considers the issue of formation of students’ professional skills and abilities during practical classes on Criminalistics, provided for by the Federal State Educational Standard (FSES) and being one of the major disciplines at higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The article presents the author’s view on the significance and specific features of practical classes on Criminalistics in the context of implementation of the modern competency-based approach to vocational education.
