The paper concerns ion beam formation in the surface thermo-ionized source. To get high analytical features, it is necessary, on the one hand, to get the maximal utilization of sample ions originating on the surface of the ionizer ribbon; on the other hand, to form the ion beam fitting well the mass-analyzer acceptance. The throughout computer simulation from the place of ion origination down to the region of their registration, allows to provide the necessary matching.
