Currently, the state of the tourism industry is in a deep crisis due to the development of a new coronavirus pandemic, and all representatives and participants of the tourism industry have already felt its negative consequences. The need to maintain the industry requires its transformation, one of the promising areas of which can be the development of domestic tourism. The study considers the status and possible prospects of domestic tourism development in Khabarovsk territory based on the analysis of results of sociological research, identifies consumer preferences and the structure of demand in potential areas. The results of the study allow us to draw conclusions about the need to review the existing regional tourism offers and conduct comprehensive work on the formation and promotion of the products that are optimally suitable for the tourism industry of the region.
