Formation of the system of urban governance in Central Asia after the establishment of tsarist rule in the region (1865-1917)

The article is devoted to the problem of formation of the system of urban governance in Central Asia after the arrival of Russia in the region. The subject of the article is the political and legal aspect of the problem of integration into the imperial system of Russia in terms of urban population management. The authors consider the gradual political modernization of the region, noting that this process was accompanied by complex socio-cultural and political processes that had a significant impact on the life of the local population.
