The discussion on reforming economic education in Russia is not slowing down. The article discusses the concept of forming a system of continuous economic education from school to institutions of secondary and higher vocational education. In particular, the necessity of teaching the discipline “Economic Theory” in all universities as a compulsory subject is substantiated. It is proposed to transfer the study of the “Economics” section as part of the “Social Studies” discipline in secondary schools from the field of theoretical understanding of economics to the field of understanding it as an economic phenomenon, a truly operating national economic system within the framework of the country’s unified economic space. Along with this, the article discusses the issues of introducing information and communication technologies into the practice of economic education in higher education, as well as the problem of meeting the process of training professional economists with the new requirements of a rapidly changing world.
