The People's Republic of China became the first country where the government implemented a social rating system using modern digital tools and technologies. This system evaluates citizens by assigning each person a specific status in society based on their behavior and social activity. The social rating system in China has both advantages and certain drawbacks. It has been integrated into China’s legal framework. According to the Chinese government, the introduction of the social credit system aims to establish a virtuous state and social harmony, where honest, trustworthy, and law-abiding individuals are rewarded, while those displaying dishonesty, corruption, or other violations are penalized. It is noted that the overall crime rate in China has decreased since the introduction of the social rating system
