Formation of cadets’ special marksman stamina and coordination at the educational organizations of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs at the initial stage of firearms training

Introduction. Cadets and trainees of educational organizations of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs at the first stage of combat shoulder firearms’ training frequently face the problem of insufficient level of special marksman qualities such as stamina and coordination, which has a negative impact on the results of training and motivation. Materials and Methods. The research was conducted among 82 second-year-cadets of the Omsk Academy of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (the fourth term, the first year of training firearms). The SCATT firearms training simulator was used. Results and Discussion. The study of the special level of stamina and coordination of second-year-cadets revealed that the high level of general physical fitness immediately influences the level of special firearms stamina, while special coordination manifested in accurate portions of grasp efforts, processing the percussion trigger and holding the weapon within the aiming area is less connected with the learner's motor experience. Conclusions. The suggested drills of technical training facilitate the formation of the cadets' and trainees' necessary qualities at the initial stage of firearms training and recovery of the lost level of special stamina and coordination after a long pause between firearms lessons.
