Formation of strategic alternatives of municipal entity development

The article focuses on a topical problem of theoretical justification of development strategy choice for municipal entity - Volzhskiy urban district. In order to use strong points of city economy and favourable factors of external environment a set of strategic development alternatives has been elaborated. According to the author, «suburbanisation» strategic alternative predetermines intensive infrastructure development, innovative technologies, tourist and recreation complex, realization of territory development strategy of city as a whole.
