The issues of soil decompaction by subsoilers are considered in this article. The influence of the working bodies on the soil is described. The main task of subsoilers is singled out. The main comparative characteristics of modern subsoilers are given in terms of such parameters as: tractor traction class; maximum depth of tillage; working width; the number of working bodies; distance between racks; working speed; performance. As a comparison of tillage with subsoilers, two main types of working bodies are given. The technical characteristics and main types of working bodies of subsoilers are indicated. The main geometric parameters of the working bodies and their influence on the physical and mechanical properties of the soil are identified. The theory of the process of deep loosening of the soil is considered. One of the main technological parameters of the process of deep soil loosening is the critical cutting depth Hcr. The main difference in the operation of straight tines is the appearance of furrows, between which a dense soil ridge remains. To solve this problem, there are tines of the paraplow type. The geometric parameters of this type of tines contribute to less formation of a dense soil ridge. As a result, the soil becomes loose and porous at a greater depth of cultivation, which contributes to greater moisture accumulation in arid zones and, as a result, an increase in soil fertility. The results of comparative tests of the working bodies of subsoilers are presented, as a result of which a decrease in a dense soil ridge and an increase in the preservation of stubble at the same actual productivity are established. The dependence of relative productivity on soil density is obtained.
