Formation of “point of growth” on the Upper Kama

The question of creating an agglomeration on the territory of the Northern Kama region of the Western Urals is being considered. On the basis of world and domestic experience, both the expected positive factors of the economic and socio-cultural development of the territory and potential risks are analyzed. In 2018, the territories of the city of Berezniki and the Usolsky municipal district are united into a single urban district, in the future, the entry of Solikamsk into the emerging agglomeration, which today are interconnected by intensive economic, labor and cultural and everyday ties, have the potential of a new stage of socio-economic development. When creating new agglomerations, which will be a single sociocultural, economic, and political whole, they must first be studied by specialists from the most diverse branches of knowledge. The scientific decision to unite and progressively develop the agglomeration must take precedence over a political decision.
