Event activities as a base for tourist clusters functioning

The development of domestic tourism makes the issues of mechanisms for tourist clusters successful functioning important. Among them event resources occupy an important place. The article confirms the importance of the cluster approach in the tourist activities organization. Cluster promotes the deep industrial ties and cooperation within the same territory, makes it possible to improve the quality of the provided tourist and related services, and form a general positive image of the destination. At the same time, the implementation of cluster projects in tourism in Russia has received mixed development. The authors put forward a hypothesis that the integrated use of event resources in the formation and functioning of tourist clusters makes it possible to deepen the tourist space theming, strengthen industrial ties, and improve the ter-ritory image. The authors analyzed 72 cluster projects to study the place of event resources in them and identify problems of their use, carried out a comprehensive classification of event tour-ism resources and described mechanisms for the effective use of event resources in a tourist cluster.
