Formation of basic concepts in the field of physics of nanostructures among future engineering personnel

The possibilities of developing engineering education by modernizing its content are substantiated. Examples of harmonious inclusion of the fundamentals of nanostructure physics into the content of traditional educational courses are considered. The objectives of studying this section have been identified; the formation of competencies in students necessary for applying the acquired knowledge in professional activities has been identified as one of the significant ones. Methodological approaches are proposed aimed at studying the fundamental principles of the physics of nanostructures within the framework of a general physics course. The educational potential of the subject material of the physics of nanostructures in the training of future engineers has been established. The logic of students mastering the content of new subject material, the possibility of its integration into training courses without a significant increase in the volume of the teaching load, is substantiated. The experience of constructing a computer laboratory workshop in the area of scientific knowledge under consideration is presented.
