Formation of European ideas about the participation of society in the state government in ancient period and in the middle ages: philosophical and legal aspect

From the standpoint of the philosophy of law and administrative and legal science the article considers the genesis of European ideas about the participation of society in the state government in the ancient period and in the middle ages in order to obtain new theoretical data on the prerequisites for the formation of modern forms and methods of democratic socio-political structure. The topicality of such researches for the modernization of Russian administrative science is stated.
