Purpose: Article is devoted to the physico-chemical analysis of ceramic molding compositions of the early Iron Age in Western Siberia. Conducted petrographic studies of pottery. Used to study archaeological materials from burial grounds and settlements of Baraba forest-steppe, Tobol and Irtysh region. Over the past decade, has been introduced in the scientific revolution sufficiently large complex sources of research technology making pottery Sargatka culture. The results of physicochemical analyzes of ceramic fragments objects Urals and Western Siberia. At this stage it became necessary to summarize and organize the material in accordance with the current state of archaeological sources and theoretical justification. One of the main objectives of the study becomes the example of the study of ceramics, as the main source and the most mass, revealing the features of cultural adaptation to the natural conditions of the West Siberian - Ural region. Data on petrography ceramics beyond the Urals derived from published materials. Results: Was dated local features molding compositions of each region. Revealed the presence in their structure of the southern part. Draws parallels with the Sarmatian pottery and ceramics later time. Paid special attention to the peculiarities of cultural adaptation of the population. Samples containing composition in the sand like an artificial impurity, are different from other texture - not clearly expressed, cloddy. Therefore, it is possible that part of the small fragments is a natural impurity in the loam. Organics in the molding compositions recorded in a light brown or yellow-brown lumps oval and round shape phosphate composition. And in all cases acted as a plasticizer pretty sanding clays. Fireclay presented rubble black, brownish, yellowish-brownish, irregular, oval and angular shape, containing in some cases, the impurity of sand. Conclusion: Popular impurity for ceramics Baraba forest-steppe, Tobol and Irtysh is fireclay. Ceramic sand is beyond the Urals. Organic matter added to the clay in the territory of the Baraba forest-steppe. Not only in other regions. In ceramics tradition Tobol was added to the dough pottery talc due to prolonged contact with Gorokhovskaya culture, at the end I millennium BC. The tradition of adding to the dough crushed bone is fixed in the territory Tobol and Trans (West area). It has a southern, mid-Asian origin, and may be associated with the penetration of new populations. The collections are dominated samples with «traditional» impurities (clay, sand, organic matter). Moulding can be described as stable during the whole time of existence Sargatka culture. «Import» pottery composition test is significantly different from local.
