Forms, methods and evaluation of activities of representative and executive bodies of local self-government on crime prevention in municipalities of the Republic of Dagestan

The forms, methods and evaluation of the activities of the represented and executive bodies of local self - government for the prevention of crimes in municipalities is an important part of the work of local authorities. They are responsible for the creation and implementation of crime prevention strategies and programs, as well as for ensuring security and order in the territory of the municipality. Information is provided on the place of the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the all-Russian rating of persons brought to criminal responsibility, unsolved crimes and those who committed crimes as part of an organized group. The main forms of activity of representative and executive bodies may include: development and approval of strategies and programs for the prevention and combating of crime in the territory of a municipality; organization and holding of events to educate the population on crime prevention, as well as improving security and order; cooperation with other local authorities, law enforcement agencies, public organizations and enterprises for the implementation of joint crime prevention projects; monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented crime prevention measures, as well as the introduction of new methods and technologies in this area. To assess the effectiveness of representative and executive bodies for the prevention of crimes in municipalities, various methods can be used, such as: analysis of crime statistics on the territory of a municipality and comparison with data from previous ones surveys of the population and representatives of law enforcement agencies on the quality of the work of local authorities in the field of crime prevention; assessment of the effectiveness of implemented crime prevention measures and programs, for example, by measuring the level of crime and social tension in the territory of a municipality; analysis of external factors affecting the crime rate, such as the economic situation, socio-demographic factors, etc.
