This article reveals the forms of interaction between a deputy of local self-government and the population. Deputies of local self-government represent the interests of the population in making decisions that are valid on the territory of the municipality. The forms of interaction with citizens (voters) used in parliamentary activities are determined by the level of local authorities closest to the population. The study made it possible to draw a conclusion about how deputies of local self-government can positively influence the lives of citizens, represent their interests in the representative body of the municipality.
