Vedenisov's photoshoot in the Simbirsk province: truth and fiction

The article presents the activity of the Yalta photographer Vedenisov at the beginning of the XX century on the Simbirsk province territory. It was originally supposed that he made the pictures of the village Nikolskoe-na-Cheremshane (flooded, in the modern Melekesskii area). However as a result of the conducted research it became clear that the photoshoot was held in the village Nikolskii (Sheremetievo) in the Sizran district (the modern Kuzovatovskii area of the Ulyanovsk region).
