This work is devoted to the study of the photosynthetic activity of spring barley plants, depending on the seeding rate in the foothill zone of the CBD. The size and dynamics of development of the leaf surface are under the influence of numerous agro technical, climatic and biological factors: varietal characteristics, the nature of tillering, the height of plants and others. Both these parameters essentially depend on the density of plant standing. The index of the leaf surface largely depends on both the hydrothermal conditions and the density of plant standing. It is shown that the plants of spring barley form a fairly well developed leaf surface. The value of the index of the leaf surface is in direct proportion to the seeding rate. As for the net productivity of photosynthesis, an inverse relationship is obtained here. The fewer plants per unit area, the higher the indices of each plant by the net productivity of photosynthesis. The total dry weight of plants with a more concentrated seed is higher due to the number of plants per unit area. Thus, studies show that the species Viscount is characterized by better indicators for the photosynthetic activity of plants than the Mamluk variety. This is observed during three years of research in all variants of the experiment.
