The article is devoted to study of phraseological units with the component «red» in the English and Russian languages on the basis of linguocultural comment. The phraseological units of the languages show the common and universal things as well as nationally specific features that are the key aspect to understand the mentality of the nation. Comparative analysis of phraseological units reveals universal and different things in linguistic world image.
