Statement of the problem. The study of human feelings and emotions attracts scientists from different fields of knowledge. Feeling can be defined as the ability to feel, experience, perceive external influences. The concept of ‘emotion’ acts as a synonym to the concept of ‘feeling’. The ability to express human feelings and emotions with the help of language units, in particular phraseological units (PU), is universal for all languages and at the same time the ways of expression are nationally specific. The purpose of the article is to identify the cultural codes underlying the imagery of PU feelings in the Russian dialects of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The methodology of the study is based on the imagery and the twofold nature of the PU. Considering the specifics of the PU imagery, we proceed from the fact that the linguistic consciousness of a person is associative, the experience and knowledge of what has already been experienced is used to denote something new. At the same time, the PU retains the primary and secondary images. The switching of linguistic consciousness from one cultural code to another represents the specifics of the PU imagery. Research results and discussion. The paper analyzes 20 PUs with the meaning of feelings in the dialects of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to the nature of the experience of feelings, the studied PUs are divided into 1) physical and 2) mental. By semantic and etymological analysis of the PU structural components, the internal form of the imagery of phraseological units and cultural codes as a source of imagery are revealed. Conclusions. As a result of the research, the linguistic and cultural codes underlying the phraseological imagery of PU ‘feelings’ are identified as objective, anthropomorphic, and zoomorphic.
